I have been working to create a plastic & paper free kitchen (not easy to do) and a step I am taking this spring is to replace my plastic wrap with these yummy smelling DIY bees wax cloth wrap. I first saw these at the Ashland Co-Op and fell in love with the idea. They were selling these wax covered cloths for $8 a pop and I knew this was a perfect DIY. All you need is organic beeswax that you can grate or get in bead form and some cotton scraps. I was given my cotton from a friend who is always so awesome at helping me out and being supportive in my crazy ideas lol. Free is always good right? So for less than a latte, I have these pretty plastic wrap replacements. I am loving using them for my cheese and sandwiches and plan to make several for my favorite bowls that often go into the fridge. To form the wrap around the bowl, let the warmth of your hands soften the wax. Remember to not wash in the dishwasher, but use a lukewarm water and some organic soap between uses. - Welcome to my own little corner of the Web! I love my family and do what I can to leave as little of a carbon footprint on this beautiful earth we call home. We have become a paperless kitchen family! We make a lot of our stuff homemade. I love coffee and web browsing on blogs/facebook/pinterest, healthy organic (GMO free) cooking, and lots of kisses from Chris, Aiden, Coren and Mason...I am complete. I thrive to make our lives better. I have began a new stage in my life for my children. I want to show health to my children and what better way thru our every day life. I am currently on a weight loss journey and I will be sharing my success and failures on here. I am here to motivate and keep me accountable to reclaim my health and get my life back! Enjoy the ride :)
